What Are You Reading?

Hello, Insiders!

Matt here.

Look, I don’t just write books, I also (get ready to be SHOCKED) read them. I know…!

I’ve had a pretty good year so far in terms of books read, and in the variety of books I’ve chowed down on. I’ve been poking my nose into crime (The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy), fantasy (The Binding by Bridget Collins), horror (The Outsider by Stephen King) and even a few more literary tomes (like Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss, and Normal People by Sally Rooney, a novel that every book shop in London seems to have a hundred copies of piled up in the window). I’ve purposely been trying to increase the range of books I read, and have really been enjoying it. New voices, new styles, being poured into your brain helps an author to grow.

This is all a long-winded way of me asking what YOU have been reading this year? I’m always open to suggestions, so let me know what book, new or old, has knocked your socks off so far in 2019. Just what should I be picking up next?

Let me know!

Matt.

  1. I have been reading a couple of books in the British Library Crime Classic series, they are reprints of long out of print books from pre 1950, often with very to point titles such “The Cornish Coast Murder”, “Death of an Airman”, and “The Incredibly Crime”.
On top of that I have two books by George Mann on the to be read pile.
