Hello, Insiders!
Well, it’s all go at the Uncanny Kingdom! One new book just released, David’s arriving any day now.
So what about me?
After three weeks of casting a critical eye over David’s soon to be released book, I’m now back to working on my own story, which will release early next year. And let me tell you something, it’s no easy thing getting back into a book when you’ve left it alone for the best part of a month. Whatever headspace you were in has long gone, which means days of numb-fingered fumbling to try and get to grips with the thing again. Days of struggling to put eight words down before giving up.
Yup, that’s been my week. FUN.
So I gave myself a treat. Instead of working on the chapter I left off on, I jumped forward to a section involving that rogue, that swine, that slippery sod, Carlisle. Now normally, I write in order, but desperate measures were needed to kickstart my writing again, and writing Carlisle is just the thing to make that happen.
I don’t know what it is about that character, but I just find him so enjoyable, and so easy, to write. Which is probably why this is the third series he plays a prominent role in!
And here’s a little secret between me and you: in this book, Carlisle is going to be off the leash a little. He’s not here to help anyone other than himself, and quite a few people are going to be dead by his hand before the tale is done.
Matt.
