Hello, Insiders!
As we carry on trying to get to grips with this weird new world we find ourselves in, how about I share a few lines from our forthcoming BRAND NEW BOOK?
Have this:
“He wasn’t even supposed to be in London; that’s what irked him the most. Carlisle had been in Edinburgh, orchestrating a most diverting and bloody turf war between a family of succubi and a mob of soul vampires, when news that an individual named on his Murder at the Soonest Opportunity list had been spotted skulking the streets of South London.”
Not enough? Then try this on for size:
“‘Her hair was raven-black and as thick as a strongman’s bicep. Her limbs were long, her fingers longer still, and her skin was the colour of old fruit. Her eyes were quite unusual in that they were the colour of fire, not to mention the fact that she had three of them. The third eye, situated just below her hairline, remained at rest the majority of the time. When she did open this third eye, it was said to be able to untether a man’s soul from his physical form.'”
More?! Jeez, you lot are greedy:
“Stella remembered what she was thinking as she looked into L’Merrier’s eyes for the first time: ‘How do I kill you?’ It was a thought placed within her at the point of creation. A question she would ask herself of each person she met, as, one day, she might require the answer.
‘So, you are the new familiar?’
‘Yes, what of it?’ replied Stella.
Trin laughed, Kala gasped, L’Merrier’s smile grew wider.
‘Mind your manners, familiar,’ said Trin. ‘You may live now, but we can turn you back to spit and dust if we so choose.’
‘Oh, hush now,’ said L’Merrier. ‘You create these creatures to be strong, do you not? I believe you have outdone yourselves this time. This one shall not be taking a step back for anyone.’”
Okay, enough already! I’ve got to get back to giving this book a nice polish so it’ll look its very best.
Matt.
