Anyone else ‘enjoy’ a birthday in lockdown…?
Recently I hit one of those scary ‘milestone’ birthdays. You know the ones. They used to be fine. 18 at last! 21 at last! And then they increasingly become a grim reminder of how freaking old you are and where the heck did all the years go?!
Yikes. Uh, this email isn’t a call for help, honest…
So yes. I can no longer pretend to be, more-or-less, young. Which has really made me reflect on where I am and what I’ve ‘achieved’ so far. And that, of course, brings up the Uncanny Kingdom.
We put out the first book in 2017 and look where we are now…
So many characters and stories and monsters. So many readers who’ve jumped on board for the ride. So much more yet to come. I really feel like we’re still in the early days of this and I’m excited to see where we head next.
The outside world may be very weird at the moment, but you can be sure we’re going to deliver more books, better books, and that the Uncanny Kingdom is going to carry on growing and improving.
Now feel free to wish me a happy birthday, and I’ll expect your present in the mail any day now…
